Bought a $180 mandoline for prep work at my bar, and it's been in the drawer for 8 months
I grabbed one of those fancy French mandolines last fall thinking it would speed up my citrus and onion prep for the Friday rush, but the blade guard is a pain to clean and I keep reaching for my $12 Victorinox instead. It's sat untouched since November while I still do everything by hand at the same speed. Did I just fall for the hype, or is there some trick to actually making these things worth the counter space?
