Can we talk about the whole 'fresh pasta is always better' thing?

I used to swear by boxed stuff for speed until I made a batch from scratch for a dinner party last month and people actually noticed the texture difference. Am I wrong for thinking dried pasta holds its own in certain dishes?

I burned my first batch of homemade pasta so bad it looked like mutant goldfish crackers. Dried pasta is my safety blanket for a reason.

Dried pasta absolutely has its place - I'm with you. Made fresh tagliatelle once and yeah it was amazing, but my weeknight spaghetti with jarred sauce still hits just fine and takes ten minutes.
