Had a customer yell at me for using too much salt last Saturday
This guy at the dinner rush watched me season a steak and just lost it. Said I was trying to kill him with sodium and that I had no respect for people's health. I told him it was a 12 ounce ribeye and a pinch of kosher salt was standard. He grabbed my wrist and pulled my hand toward his face to smell the salt flakes. I stood there with a full ticket rail and just walked away to the walk-in for a minute. Has anyone else had a customer get physical over something this small?

That's absolutely insane, grabbing your wrist like that is a HUGE red flag. I'm really sorry you had to deal with someone who clearly has no boundaries, that's completely unacceptable over salt.

Oh man, that's wild. I had a friend who worked at a diner and this lady grabbed the pepper grinder right out of his hand because she thought he was putting "too much" on her eggs. Like, she literally snatched it from him and started shaking it herself, screaming that he was trying to give her high blood pressure. He just stood there with his mouth open for a second before his manager came over and asked her to leave. People get so weird about seasoning, it's like they think you're personally targeting their arteries or something. I don't get it either.
