I never thought a pinch of salt in my coffee would work

I read a piece in a food magazine about a chef in New Orleans who adds a tiny bit of salt to his coffee grounds before brewing. He said it cuts the bitterness without needing sugar. I tried it this morning with my usual dark roast, just a three-finger pinch for a full pot. The difference was real, it tasted smoother and less harsh. Has anyone else tried this trick with their morning brew?

That "three-finger pinch for a full pot" sounds like way too much. You'd just taste salt and ruin a good coffee.

Right?! A full pot needs like one tiny pinch, max. Any more and you're just drinking seawater.

@the_susan one tiny pinch sounds about right to me too. Is a three-finger pinch really gonna ruin the whole thing or is everyone just overthinking it?
