Kitchen culture shift over 5 years - has it really changed for the better?

I've been working the line for about 8 years now, and I'm seeing a big difference between my first jobs and where I am now. Back in 2019 at this steakhouse in Austin, the head chef would yell across the kitchen all night, and everyone just accepted it. Now at my current spot, the sous runs things with a calm voice and structured tickets, and I swear the food quality is higher. Is this a real industry change, or did I just trade one type of kitchen for another? Curious what you all have seen in your own kitchens over the last few years.
