My herbs were dying quickly. A bartender gave me a tip.

Saw my herbs wilt after two days. Bartender friend said to store them in a glass of water. Tried it with mint and basil. Does the trick for me. How do you keep your herbs fresh?

Wait, I just stick mine in a bag in the fridge.

My partner does that with half-used pickle jars, which just live on the door shelf forever. It's like a weird science experiment collection at this point. Pretty sure one of them has developed its own fuzzy culture.

But fr, keeping those jars is smart af. They're perfect for storing sauces or random bits from cooking. Calling it a science experiment is dramatic, it's just normal fridge clutter. Plus, you never know when you'll need an extra container in a pinch. That fuzzy culture is probably just brine doing its thing.
