Vent: spent 4 hours chasing a weak flame on my charbroiler and the fix was a $3 part
Last Tuesday my charbroiler started putting out uneven heat right before a 90 cover dinner service in Portland, so I pulled the burners, soaked them, scrubbed the jets, and checked the gas line twice before I found the real issue: a cracked ceramic igniter that was shorting the whole manifold. If I had just swapped that $3 igniter first instead of assuming it was a clog, I would have saved myself four hours and a near miss on service. Anyone else got a habit of checking the hard stuff before the cheap stuff?
