A squirrel nest in a flue almost got me in trouble in Knoxville
I was cleaning a chimney at a house near the river last Tuesday and my brush got stuck about halfway up. I pulled the camera down and saw a huge pile of leaves and twigs packed tight. The homeowner said they heard scratching for weeks but thought it was the attic. I had to get a long pole with a hook to pull it all out piece by piece, which took over an hour. What's the best way you all handle animal blockages without making a huge mess inside?

Couldn't you just vacuum it out from the top first?

My buddy tried that with his car's air vents last year. He got the vacuum hose stuck in there so bad he had to cut it off. Ended up with little foam bits everywhere for weeks. He said it sounded like a good idea at the time lol.

Feel for your buddy, that sounds like a total mess. Vacuum hoses get stuck way easier than you'd think, especially in those tight vent slots. My own attempt at cleaning a keyboard with a vacuum ended with keys popping off everywhere. Sometimes the simple fix just makes a bigger problem.
