Been seeing a lot of guys skip the full visual inspection before the brush goes in

I was helping a buddy on a job in Springfield last month, and he just popped the cap and started sweeping. I made him stop and get the mirror out, and we found a cracked flue tile about two feet down. If we'd just brushed it, we might have missed it completely. That's a huge liability issue waiting to happen. How many of you still do a full visual check every single time?

Used to think a quick look was good enough until I saw a buddy drop a brush into a flue with a broken damper. Took us an hour to fish it out and the homeowner was not happy. Now I'm a total convert to the mirror every single time, no shortcuts. That extra minute can save you from a massive headache.
