Found a cheap fix for stubborn creosote buildup with dryer sheets
I was fighting this thick glaze on a flue liner last month in an old house near Portland, and on a whim I scrubbed with a used dryer sheet and it cut through way better than my usual brush. Has anyone else tried this or am I just lucky?

Honestly I used to think people were just looking for shortcuts with weird tricks like this. But I tried it on a real tough spot on my own flue last winter and yeah it actually worked. Ngl I was shocked because dryer sheets seem too soft to do anything but that little bit of texture plus the static really grabs the gunk. Tbh it's not gonna replace a proper mechanical cleaning every time but for maintenance between sweeps it's a solid hack.
