Got a call back on a job I messed up last Tuesday

I was cleaning a flue in an old house near downtown and scraped a chunk of creosote loose that fell right into their fireplace glass. Had to pull the whole unit apart and vacuum every bit out. Customer said they appreciated the honesty and still paid full price.

Man scraped a chunk of creosote loose that fell right into their fireplace glass. That sounds like one of those moments where you just freeze and think "well this is happening now." At least you got full pay and a happy customer out of it. Most people probably would have tried to hide it and made a bigger mess.

Isn't it funny how the stuff we're most scared to mess up usually ends up being the easiest to fix? Seems like half the stress in life comes from worrying about things that work out fine anyway if you just own up to it.
