Just realized I've been using the wrong brush size for years

I always grabbed a 7-inch brush for everything, thinking bigger meant faster. Then a guy on a job in Cleveland pointed out I was missing half the creosote in tight corners because my brush was too wide. Has anyone else found that a smaller brush actually does a better job on certain flues?

Gotta say this hits close to home. I did the exact same thing for way too long, thinking a bigger brush meant I was being more thorough. It was a total lightbulb moment when someone finally pointed out I was just smearing stuff around in the narrow parts instead of actually scrubbing it clean. Switching to a smaller brush felt like admitting I'd been doing it wrong, but honestly the results speak for themselves now. Glad you figured it out too, it's such a simple fix that makes a huge difference.

Six years with a 7-inch before I wised up, same mistake.
