Just realized my brush was the problem after a job in a 1920s house

I was out in Oak Park last Thursday on a routine sweep for an older couple. Their flue was so narrow I could barely get my standard 8-inch brush through it, took me almost an hour to get it clean. Turns out the original clay liner was actually only 7 inches wide, so my brush was scraping and jamming the whole time. Anyone else run into weirdly sized flues in older homes and have to swap brushes mid-job?

Seriously? It's one job, you figure it out and move on. Feels like you're making a bigger deal out of this than it is.

Hear you out, but sometimes one bad job messes up your whole workflow for days.
