Just swept my 500th chimney of the season and lost count halfway through
I was tallying up my jobs for the year and hit 500 this morning on a routine clean over on Maple Street. Didn't feel any different than the 200th or the 300th to be honest. Anybody else get surprised by a big number like that or am I just not paying attention?

Man, ain't that the truth? I was reorganizing my toolbox last week and realized I'd gone through my 50th tube of caulk for the season without even thinking about it. It's like when you're in the zone, those numbers just sneak up on you. I remember when I hit 100 service calls one year and my wife had to point it out. The work just becomes a blur after a while.

Right there with you, Ray. It's funny how the milestones pass you by when you're just focused on getting the job done, but then you look back and it hits you.

Jumped right into reading this and it totally connects to something I've noticed in life outside of work too. I mean, my husband and I were just talking about how we must have watched a hundred sunsets from our porch this summer and we never counted one of them until we sat down for Thanksgiving. It's like @wendy_bell83 was saying, the real milestones are the ones you don't plan for, they just show up when you're not trying to measure the small stuff. Maybe that's how it is with everything that actually matters - the numbers only hit you later, after the work is already done.
