PSA: Tried using a leaf blower to clear a flue from the roof last week in Springfield, got a face full of 20-year-old soot.

Yeah, the whole thing was wild. Saw a video of some guy trying to patch a leak from up there with duct tape and a prayer. One good gust and he's flying.

Man, I had a neighbor back in 2012 who did this exact thing during a storm. He slipped on some wet shingles and slid halfway down before catching the gutter. Took us twenty minutes to get him down with a ladder. I still get nervous just looking at a steep roof now.
