Swapped my old wire brush for a poly whip last spring

Used to think a stiff wire brush was the only way to get heavy creosote off flue tiles. Got a poly whip on a wholesaler's recommendation and it cut my job time by about 20 minutes per flue. Anyone else switched and noticed less tile damage?

Man that poly whip switch was a game changer for me too. I was skeptical at first cause I thought softer meant less cleaning power but nah. Tile damage dropped like crazy after I swapped. Still keep a wire brush for the really baked on stuff from years of neglect though. Creosote buildup can get wild sometimes.

Yeah @thomas.cameron that baked on creosote is no joke, I keep a wire brush around too for the stubborn spots. A little heat and some elbow grease usually knocks it loose without wrecking the tile.
