The $35 creosote log that clogged my flue worse than before

The whole thing about creosote logs is that they're supposed to dry out the stuff and make it flake off, but they don't always work like that. If your flue was already really clogged up, the log might have just loosened a bunch of crud that then fell down and blocked things even more. People on here always say you gotta sweep it first or at least check how bad it is before tossing one of those in. Honestly, I just use a regular old brush and rod now, it's way more reliable for me.

Wait, you actually had a log make things WORSE? That's honestly terrifying. I thought the worst that could happen was it just not doing anything, not actually causing a blockage. So you had to deal with a bigger mess after trying to do the right thing? That's rough, man, I'd be furious.
