The $40 accordion brush I laughed at now lives in my truck

Buddy in Nashville swore by one of those cheap accordion style brushes for sweeping out offset flues. I told him no way, my wire brush and rods have worked fine for 12 years. Then last month I got a job with a 30 degree bend in a clay liner and my rods kept binding up. Pulled out his brush, it flexed through like nothing. Finished the whole job in under an hour instead of my usual three. Still hate the squeaky handle but damn if it didn't earn its spot. Anyone else find a tool they mocked that turned out to be the answer for a specific problem?
