Thought drop cloths were for rookies until a $3,200 rug in Evanston made me eat my words
I've been sweeping for 11 years and always figured drop cloths were a waste of time on the clock. Last Tuesday this older sweep named Ray was helping me on a job in Evanston and he laid one down before I even got my rods out. He said a soot stain on a $3,200 wool rug costs more than every cloth he's ever bought, and the homeowner was standing right there nodding. I still feel dumb about the one I ruined in a Lincoln Park condo two winters back. Anyone else got a hill they died on that a vet talked them off of?
