Blew $650 on tool holders that didnt fit my spindle
Bought a set of ER32 holders off a sketchy auction site for my Haas at the shop in Dayton, turns out they were CAT40 not BT40. My foreman just laughed and said check the taper next time, anyone else get burned by cheap online tooling?

Man, that sucks but your foreman kinda has a point. My buddy down in Cincy did the exact same thing with a set of ER16s off eBay for his Mori. He was SO pumped about the deal, bragged about it for a week. Got them in the mail, went to slap one on the spindle and it wobbled like a loose tooth. Turns out they were some weird metric pull stud variant that only fits older Japanese machines. He spent two weekends chasing adapters before he just ate the loss and ordered the right ones from MSC. The cheap ones are still sitting in a box under his bench as a reminder to slow down and read the damn spec sheet.
