Gained 0.002" consistency after switching my feed rate on aluminum

I was getting wild finish variation on 6061 parts for about 3 months. Finally got a tip from a guy at the local tool supply to drop my feed from 0.008 to 0.004 per tooth. The surface finish went from rough and inconsistent to almost mirror-like in one test run. Has anyone else seen that big a change just from adjusting feed rate?

Dropped my own feed rate once and ended up with a finish so smooth I actually cut myself on the part, no joke. I mean, it's wild how much difference such a tiny change can make, right? Makes me wonder how many other settings I've been messing up for years by just guessing. I probably should've asked the tool supply guy way sooner instead of blaming my machine every time. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like half the battle is just admitting your setup might be the problem and not the damn machine.

Oh I've definitely cut myself on my own "shiny" parts too, guess that means it's working right.
