Overheard a guy at a local shop say coolant pH doesn't matter for aluminum
He was running a job for a defense contractor and never checked pH once in 3 years, but last month his surface finish went to hell and now he's chasing corrosion in his lines for 2 days - anyone else caught hell from skipping coolant maintenance?

My buddy ignored coolant pH for a year and trashed his mill spindle.

Had a buddy who never changed his way oil filter for two years straight, then his table started sticking so bad it threw his parts off by a few thou.
