Ran a part 0.005" oversize for 8 months without knowing

Been running these aluminum brackets for a high volume order. Checked every 50th part with calipers and thought I was golden. Then last Tuesday the customer sends a CMM report showing my hole diameter drifted 5 thou over the print. Turns out my probe was loose in the holder this whole time. Swapped it out and everything locked in. Anybody else ever miss something dumb like that for months?

Isn't it funny how one little thing can just absolutely wreck your whole plan? You check everything twice, but that one loose connection (or whatever it is) just sneaks right past you. It's the same with a dead car battery or a cracked phone screen, you know? You think you've got it all figured out and then bam, something tiny but crucial fails. Kinda makes you wonder how much of our daily mess-ups come from the smallest, dumbest oversights.
