Ran my rougher .015 too deep on a finish pass for a whole batch
Caught myself last Thursday running a 40 piece run of 6061 brackets with the finish pass cutting .015 deep instead of .003. I had swapped the finish end mill for a regrind and never rechecked the offset, so the tool was sitting proud in the holder. The parts mic'd fine on the OD but the floor had tool rub that I blamed on chatter for two weeks before a buddy from the second shift asked why my stepover looked off. Ended up scrapping 12 of them before I caught it. Anybody got a go-to habit for catching offset drift after a tool change besides the obvious touch off?
