Almost quit learning Python last Tuesday because of one stupid library install, and I bet I'm not the only one
So last Tuesday I'm sitting at my kitchen table in Cleveland trying to follow a free Python course on YouTube, and it gets to the part where you install a library, and everything falls apart. I type pip install into the terminal and get a wall of red error text about a path and a version mismatch, and I spend two and a half hours googling every word of it. Turns out I had two versions of Python on my laptop from some old class I took in 2023, and they were fighting each other the whole time. I almost closed the laptop and decided coding just wasn't for me, but a guy in a Discord server walked me through deleting the old one and adding the right path, and it took eight minutes. The scary part is I did nothing wrong, the setup was just messed up from the start and nobody warns you about that. If you're a beginner stuck on some install error right now, it is almost never your brain, it's your setup, and there are people who will fix it with you for free. What was the first error that made you want to give up, and how did you get past it?
