I bought a $200 Python bootcamp and it was a total waste
I saw an ad for a 'guaranteed job' course from CodeCrash and signed up last spring. The videos were just reading slides, and the projects were copy-paste stuff with no real help. I learned more from free stuff on YouTube in a week than that whole course. Anyone know a good free resource for building actual projects?

That CodeCrash thing you mentioned sounds exactly like the $250 course I fell for called "ByteWise Academy." The instructor literally used slides from a 2018 presentation and sped through the code so fast you couldn't follow along. I ended up ditching it after week two and just building a simple to-do list app from a YouTube tutorial instead. Free stuff honestly forced me to figure out problems on my own which stuck way better than copy-pasting someone else's work. What kind of projects are you looking to build first?

But you got structure, which free stuff never gives.

Structure can totally come from free things too, like a public library schedule or a free online course. Those have clear plans and goals without costing money. Saying free stuff lacks structure just isn't true anymore.
