I saw a public library in Austin with a whole wall of beginner coding books
I was looking for a quiet place to work yesterday and walked into the main library downtown. They have a whole section, maybe 50 books, just for people starting with Python and web stuff. It was all free to borrow, which is way better than buying a $40 book before you even know if you like it. Has anyone else found a good free spot like that for learning the basics?

My local library had free Python workshops last summer.

Seriously, libraries are the best kept secret for learning stuff. People will drop hundreds on online courses without even walking into their local branch. It's wild. They have all this free help just sitting there and nobody seems to know.

Remember my friend who wanted to try coding but was broke. He found a whole rack of free JavaScript books at the county library, which gave him the start he needed. Makes you wonder why more people don't check their local branch first.
