My buddy told me to start with Python and I was totally wrong about it
I was at a coffee shop in Portland last month, trying to learn C++ from a huge textbook. My friend Sam saw me struggling and said, 'Dude, you're making this way too hard. Just try Python for a week.' I argued that real coders start with hard languages. He showed me how he wrote a number guessing game in Python in like 20 lines, which took me 50 in C++. After that one demo, I switched and built my first actual project, a tip calculator, in two days. Has anyone else had a friend completely flip their learning path like that?

Honestly that early win is key for staying motivated. Getting something to actually work beats theory every time. Python's great for that.

Totally feel that. My cousin did the same thing when I was grinding through Java syntax. She pulled up Python and made a little weather app in an afternoon. It was like a lightbulb moment. Starting simple lets you actually build stuff instead of just fighting the language. That early win is everything for keeping you going.
