TIL those free coding bootcamp previews are just sales pitches
I sat through a 90 minute session last night at a place in Austin and they spent maybe 10 minutes on actual code before pushing a $12,000 payment plan, anyone else feel tricked by these free intro offers?

That 12k buys you actual career coaching and job placement though.

The one at General Assembly in Austin last month was exactly the same for me, they showed us a countdown clock to get a "discount" before even showing a single line of code. I ended up learning more from free YouTube channels like FreeCodeCamp and building my own small projects on the side. @abbychen I get what you're saying about career coaching, but $12k is a huge risk if you're not sure coding is for you yet. What finally worked for me was doing a cheap Udemy course for $15 and then applying to a local meetup group where someone helped me with my resume. That hands on practice was way more useful than any bootcamp sales pitch I sat through.
