TIL my grandma's old percolator makes coffee I actually like more than my pour over
Three weeks ago I was cleaning out my grandma's house in Dayton and found her old Farberware percolator in the back of a cabinet, still in the box from 1974. I brought it home mostly for the memory, but last Sunday I actually ran it with some medium roast from the store down the street and was shocked at how smooth it came out. My pour over setup has been sitting untouched on the counter since, which I did not see coming after five years of fussing with gooseneck kettles and timers. Now I am wondering if I just got lucky with the grind, or if percolators deserve more credit than the internet gives them. Has anyone here gone back to an old percolator and stuck with it?
