Warning: I swapped my paper filter for a metal one and my coffee went from bright to muddy overnight
After 2 weeks my drip coffee tasted flat and bitter no matter how I ground the beans, and it turns out the metal mesh was letting all the fine silt straight through. If you made the same swap, did going back to paper fix it or did you just have to grind way coarser?
I mean at least with the sourdough you get bread out of it, the metal filter just leaves you with slightly different tasting coffee and a sink full of grounds. My phases usually end with a drawer full of stuff I swore I'd keep using. The french press is still sitting there judging me.
