Ditched the $200 espresso machine for a $30 moka pot and wow

I bought a fancy DeLonghi last spring and it sat on my counter judging me every morning, spitting out watery shots that tasted like burnt socks. Then I grabbed a Bialetti from the discount bin at the Portland farmers market and watched a 10 minute YouTube video. That little pot makes a rich, syrupy cup that beats anything I got from the big machine, and cleanup takes 30 seconds. Anyone else have a cheap setup that wrecked their expensive gear forever?
