My neighbor's kid asked why we grind beans fresh every morning
He saw me doing it and said his family just uses a big can of pre-ground from the store. It made me think about how my dad used to make coffee with a percolator and Folgers, and that was the fancy stuff back then. Now I'm weighing grams and timing my pour, which feels like a lot but I enjoy it. Do you think the ritual is part of the point, or is it just about the taste?

Fair enough, but for me the ritual is just extra work before the real payoff. Grinding beans and messing with a pour over feels like a chore when I'm half asleep. Gimme a solid cup quick so I can get on with my morning.
