Shoutout to switching from pre-ground to whole bean coffee last month
I used to buy pre-ground coffee from the grocery store for like $8 a bag. Then I grabbed a $20 burr grinder off Amazon and started grinding my own beans. The difference is honestly wild, the flavor is way brighter and less bitter. I'm kicking myself for waiting 3 years to make the switch. Has anyone else noticed a huge jump just from grinding fresh, or is it just me?

Just make sure you're not grinding too fine or you'll get bitter sludge instead of good coffee.

bitter sludge" is dead on for too fine a grind. I learned that the hard way when I first got my burr grinder. What I found helpful is aiming for a grind that feels like kosher salt granules, then adjusting from there. Also, if your brew time drops way under 4 minutes for a drip machine, your grind is probably too coarse.
