Warning: I tried a 'cold brew' concentrate from a new local spot and it was basically just cold coffee water
I grabbed a bottle from that new cafe on 5th Street, and it had zero strength even after I mixed it like the label said. It tasted like they just poured regular coffee over ice and called it a day. Has anyone else found a concentrate that actually works right?

What did they do, wave a coffee bean over some tap water? That's just sad. I'd ask for my money back but they'd probably hand me a cup of warm spit. Some places just have no shame calling anything "craft" now.

Remember that article about the "craft" label having no real rules? It said a place can call a drink craft just for adding a single mint leaf to factory syrup. That's what this feels like. They rely on the word to make us think we're getting something special when it's just the same old stuff. It tricks people into paying more for basically no extra work. The whole thing makes real craft places look bad too.

Yeah totally, I read something like that about craft beer too. It was talking about how big companies buy up small breweries just to use the craft name on their regular beer. @viola_reed is right, it's the same trick. They know the word makes people feel like they're buying something better from someone who cares. It just waters down the whole idea until the word doesn't mean anything real anymore. Then actual small makers get lost in the noise because everyone's calling their stuff craft now.
