Appreciation post for the guy at my local comic shop who remembers everyone's pull list

There's this older dude named Rick who has worked at my shop in Portland for like 15 years. Last week I walked in and he already had my new issue of something I didn't even remember pre-ordering. He just handed it over and said "you'll like this one, trust me." That kind of memory is wild. Three years ago I had a different shop where nobody knew my name and I'd have to explain my whole routine every visit. Makes a huge difference when the staff actually cares about the regulars. Does your shop still have someone like that or is it all just point of sale tablets now?

Right? That one person who actually cares can change everything. You see it at the grocery store too, the cashier who remembers your name or the stocker who helps you find something. Or at the DMV, the one employee who doesn't roll their eyes and actually walks you through the steps. Those little moments stick with you way more than all the times people are just going through the motions. It's like everyone's in a hurry to get somewhere else, until you meet someone who's actually present.
