Appreciation post: the guy who warned me about overpriced variant covers

I dropped $80 on a virgin variant of a random #1 issue that nobody even talks about now. Some dude at the register told me half these covers are just FOMO bait, and he was right.

I mean "FOMO bait" is right but sometimes a cover is just cool.

Is it just me or does a great album cover make you way more likely to actually stop and listen to the whole thing? It's like how a good book cover gets you to pick it up off the shelf, you know.

Yeah I bought a vinyl copy of that album just because the cover had a cool old car on it. Didn't even know the band but now I've got a new favorite song.
