Guy at the comic shop told me I was reading superhero comics wrong for 10 years straight
Last Tuesday at Third Eye Comics in Annapolis, this older collector looked at my pull list and said 'you're just reading for the fights, not the dialogue,' and honestly it shook me because I realized he was right after I went back and reread that first Walking Dead arc without skipping the talking parts.

elliot_johnson it's actually wild how many people admit to skipping dialogue, but here's the thing nobody talks about - maybe the writing's the problem, not the reader. If a book can't hold your attention through the quiet moments, that's on the creators for not making those parts worth reading. I've put down plenty of "classic" runs where the action panels popped but the word bubbles felt like homework.
