Hit issue #300 in my collection and it felt like a whole new hobby
I was sorting my long boxes last Tuesday and counted 300 comics total, mostly X-Men and indie stuff I grabbed at conventions over the last 5 years. That number blew my mind because I never set out to collect that many, it just happened from dollar bins and trades. Anyone else pass a milestone number and suddenly see their habit differently?

The part about it "just happened" hits home for me, but here's the thing nobody's mentioning. Once you cross that number, you start realizing the collection is bigger than your memory of it. I hit 250 back in March and suddenly I couldn't recall half the issues I owned. Had to make a spreadsheet just to stop buying doubles. That's when it stopped being about the hunt and started being about managing what you got. Your 300 might be the point where the hobby becomes more about organizing than finding. Not saying that's bad, just different. Take it with a grain of salt though, I'm a weirdo who alphabetizes my indie stuff by publisher.
