I keep seeing people call Batman a superhero when he's really a detective first

It bugs me every time someone says he just beats up criminals when his whole deal is solving cases like in "The Long Halloween." Am I the only one who gets annoyed by this mix-up?

@willow_martin i get what you mean but honestly i feel like the whole detective thing gets ignored because the batman movies focus so much on the punching. remember when he barely investigated anything in the dark knight and just used a sonar phone? like come on gordon at least does some legwork on the case first before calling bats in.
