Just checked the sales figures on the first appearance of Omega Red... wow

I've been cleaning houses in Portland for about 5 years now, and one of my regulars has a massive comic collection he keeps in plastic bins. Last month he let me flip through his short boxes while I waited for a carpet to dry. He had a complete run of X-Men from #250 to #300, including three copies of #280. I told him I always thought that issue was junk, but he pulled out his phone and showed me the GPAnalysis chart. The graded 9.8s had a steady climb from $300 in 2020 to over $900 last year. He said it's because Omega Red is supposed to show up in the MCU eventually. Now I'm thinking about hitting up garage sales for early 90s X-Men books I used to ignore. Has anyone else had a random back issue suddenly spike in value?

Maybe I should start dusting off the long boxes instead of the living room shelves, I'd probably find a hidden gem under a pile of cat hair.

Bet you'll find more dust than anything valuable lol
