Just realized my comic book fandom is clashing with office culture
I work at a tech startup where most people are into sports or movies, but I'm deep into comic books. Last month, I decorated my desk with some vintage Spider-Man issues, and my team lead hinted it might look too childish. During a client call, I made a joke about Superman's secret identity, and everyone went quiet. Now I feel like I have to tone down my interests to fit in. It's frustrating because comics are a huge stress reliever for me, especially with remote work blurring lines. Has anyone else faced pushback for being a fan at their job? How do you handle coworkers who don't get it? I don't want to quit enjoying comics, but I also need to keep my job secure.
