My mailman saw my longboxes and told me I was collecting wrong, now I can't stop thinking about it
I've been buying singles every Wednesday for about 6 years now, nothing crazy, just a pull list at a shop here in Tucson. My mailman noticed a stack of bags and boards on my porch last month and asked what they were. When I told him comics, he laughed and said he used to have 40 short boxes back in the 90s and sold every single one for $600 to a guy at a flea market. I asked if he regretted it and he said no, because he actually read them all and now he just uses the library app. That hit me weird. I have maybe 2,000 books and I could count on two hands the ones I've read twice. So now I'm sitting here wondering if I'm a reader or just a guy with a storage unit problem. Anyone else ever get called out like that and actually change how they buy? Or do you just keep stacking and not think about it?
Sounds like the guy just had a different hobby than you, collecting vs reading are two separate things. If buying them makes you happy then who cares what your mailman did in the 90s.
