Reached 500 issues in my collection last weekend and it snuck up on me

I was just organizing my long boxes to make room for the new Fantastic Four run when I decided to actually count. Never really paid attention before, but 500 feels like a real milestone. Have you all ever hit a number that surprised you just from casual collecting?

Whoa, 500 issues sneaking up on you is wild but honestly I'm stuck on the detail about making room for a new Fantastic Four run. @hugobarnes is probably right that you've got way more than 500 if you're actually filling long boxes. That's a cool milestone either way, congrats.

Slow down a bit there. 500 issues is cool, but you probably have a lot more than that if you're counting long boxes full of runs. A standard long box holds about 300-350 modern comics, give or take with bags and boards. If you're filling a whole long box just for the new Fantastic Four run, you're probably over 500 already once you factor in all your other books piled up. I'd bet you've got closer to 600 or 700 if you actually went through every short box and stack in the closet. Either way, nice milestone just don't get too attached to a round number when the real total is probably higher.
