Spent 6 months hunting down a complete Silver Surfer run

I finally found issue #4 at a small shop in Ohio last week, but it cost me $80 more than I expected. The owner told me he had it in the back for years and just never put it out. Has anyone else had luck finding old books in places that don't look promising?

Man, that reminds me of digging through a beat-up cardboard box in a basement at a garage sale and finding a first print of Wolverine #1 tucked between some old cookbooks and a moldy copy of The Hunt for Red October. The lady sold it to me for two bucks because she thought it was just an old comic her kid left behind. I still think about that day sometimes, wondering what else gets tossed out without anyone knowing what it is. Did you flip through the whole box before you saw that Silver Surfer sticking out?
