That one guy at the comic shop told me my pull list was too small
I used to only grab the big titles like Batman and Spider-Man every month. A older collector at my local shop in Cleveland told me I was missing out by sticking to just 3 books. He said branching out to indie stuff would actually make me appreciate the craft more. So I added 5 more titles like Saga and Something is Killing the Children to my list. Now I spend about $45 a month instead of $20 but I look forward to Wednesday pulls way more. Has anyone else had a random stranger at the counter give advice that actually worked out?

That random older collector told me I was missing out by sticking to just 3 books." I'd gently push back on that a bit. In my experience, a small pull list is perfectly fine if those three books are ones you really love and look forward to every month. Your mileage may vary, but quality over quantity is a solid approach, and branching out only works if you actually have the time and budget for it.

It's just comics, not that deep.
