That time I realized I was bagging comics wrong for 5 years
Was at my LCS and the owner pointed out I had my boards backwards. Acid side was touching the books the whole time. Has anyone else been making that dumb mistake without knowing?

Wait acid side vs board side is actually a thing? I always just shoved them in whichever way fit easiest and called it a day.

Wait you mean I've been doing it wrong this whole time? haha I swear I've been turning circuit boards into abstract art with the way I jam components in there. One time I built a whole DIY synth kit and it powers on but the oscillator sounds like a dying cat, pretty sure I mixed up the acid side on like half the capacitors. Honestly my builds look like a toddler arranged them with their eyes closed. But hey, if it works it works right? Most of the time it doesn't work but the cat dying sounds are kind of cool honestly.

OH MY GOD! I had a friend who did this exact thing with his entire Silver Age Spider-Man run. He kept wondering why the pages were getting these weird brown spots and the colors looked kind of faded. Turns out he had the acid side facing the books for like three years straight. He said he felt like such a moron when the shop guy showed him the difference, especially since he had been collecting for way longer than me.
