The week I read 3 old issues of Crisis on Infinite Earths and finally got the hype

Honestly, I never cared about DC reboots until last Tuesday when a buddy lent me his original 1985 copies and I just sat there reading all three back to back. The deaths actually hit me, even though I knew the outcomes from online summaries. Has anyone else had a run they avoided forever suddenly click like that?
