Warning: I tried to get my partner into comics by starting with 'Watchmen'

I thought the deep themes would hook them, but they just found it bleak and confusing. Now I know to begin with something like 'Ms. Marvel' instead of the heavy stuff. What's your go-to comic for a total newbie?

Honestly, it worked for me because I was already into weird, dark movies. The heavy stuff just clicked right away instead of feeling like homework. Sometimes you just get lucky with a weird starting point.

Oh, you started with Watchmen too? I thought I was the only one who jumped in headfirst like that... picked it up at a used bookstore and had no clue what I was getting into. @the_abby, you're right though, if you're already into dark stuff it just clicks without needing to work your way up through Batman.
