Wednesday's comic haul felt more like a library visit than a fan event.

Picked up my pulls last week and the shop was eerily silent. I recall when new issue days were social hubs, full of speculation and excitement. Do fans just prefer discussing online now?

That "library visit" comparison hits hard... I wandered into my shop last week and my most animated moment was whispering "sorry" to a display I grazed with my bag. Remember chatting with strangers about Wolverine's latest resurrection, now I just eavesdrop on podcasts while flipping through pages. My contribution to the community has dwindled to liking tweets about variant covers... Honestly, the staff probably recognizes me by the sound of my phone notification. I've become the quiet part of the equation I used to complain about.

Wait, but that quiet support is legit valuable. Shops need steady customers more than chatter, and liking tweets still boosts visibility. You're part of the ecosystem without even trying.

Yeah no for real. My buddy basically keeps our local place's indie wall in business. She never talks to anyone, just grabs her weird black-and-white comics every Wednesday. I mean, the owner once told me he noticed her pattern and started setting aside certain issues, because her quiet buys were a big part of moving that stuff. She has no idea she's basically their most steady customer for that section.
